Rarely update my blog these few days as I don't really have the mood. Well, let's start with my trip to Kuala Terengganu on 15th July 2011.
Terengganu Trip - awesome
My original plan is actually to go there with my parents and we even booked for Felda Residence Hotel on 16th July. Unfortunately, the plan changed. So, I went to Terengganu with my friends; Adibah as the driver, Aan and Ain. We stopped at Mesra Mall in Kerteh and bought teacher's present there. Mesra Mall is a nice and cute shopping mall I think. Then we headed to Seberang Takir to meet with others at the homestay. Oh, before that we went to Noor Arfa Craft Complex just before K. Terengganu but there's nothing much there and they do not offer any interesting deals.

Then, we went for a tour around K.Terengganu then I followed Adibah to her grandparents' house somewhere in Bukit Kecil ( i think ). Can't really remember the name, but I do remember the way to get there. Fast forward, the next day is THE DAY!! Our beloved teacher's walimatul urus. Her house is not that far from the homestay, about 5minutes drive. Ms Nazliah is so gorgeous and I like the ceremony; simple but meaningful. Met few KMBians there plus English teachers. Photo shooting session was fun with few weird pose and actions, but it's okey. Anything for Ms Nazliah should be a no problem.

There were 12 of us out of 20. Too bad other cannot join us. After the wedding, we checked out from the homestay and headed to Crystal Mosque.Performed tahiyatul masjid prayer but I'm quite sad as the mosque is not being fully utilised. And as what I heard from the locals, the mosque is originally build not to serve the ummah but just as any other monuments; to be visited and for you to take pictures. That is the reality there. When I entered the mosque with Aisyah we can actually count the number of people there; 3 including us. When we finished our prayer, bilal did the azan and unfortunately only 3 people step in after the iqamah; imam, bilal and another guy. It is so clear that locals don't really pray there as that mosque is quite faraway and the fact that around Losong there are many mosques and surau already.

Then, we went to Belakang Airport ( actually there's a specific name but I can't recall the weird name though ) to have our tea break. It is near the seaside. We had fried squids, fish, mushrooms and prawns. Enjoying the breeze while drinking a fresh coconut plus chit-chatting with classmates, it was just awesome. Others then drove back to their hometown in Kota Bharu and Besut. Me and Dibah is the only one stayed till Sunday. And we checked in into Felda Residence Hotel. The hotel was very nice but I guess you could not compare the workmanships like those in KL. So, still the interiors are not that perfect.

view from Felda Residence. It is at the waterfront, just beside Pejabat Kastam.

The next morning we had a delicious and very traditional breakfast. Name it, all the local delicacies can be found and the taste is superb! Then, me and Dibah headed to Pasar Payang to buy few things like akok, jala emas and I continue my hunting for green apple baju kurung. Couldn't find a nice one in Payang, then we drove and search for it somewhere around Grand Continental Hotel. And I found a very nice baju kurung at Butik Hungga2 ( what a weird name ), spoke some Terengganu dialect and get a fantastic discount. So, it is very important to use the proper dialect especially when you visit Terengganu and Kelantan. If you use other dialect, they usually will not give you fantastic discount.

| this is my all time favourite. tapioca with gula melaka! |
Then, we bid a good bye to K. Terengganu and stopped over in Kemaman to buy some keropok lekor ( highly recommended! ). It was a nice journey as all of us will be scattered around after this. Some in UK, some in Ireland, India, New Zealand and Australia. Thanks to Haiqal as "tuan rumah" for showing us around and congratulations for being a university of Queensland's student finally! All the best to you! And special thanks to Dibah for being a nice driver. You've improved, at least I can sleep during the last few kilometres on the way back to Kuantan. Hehe.. May Allah bless our ukhwah forever till jannah! Like what we always dream about before..=))
Actually I want to update about another event, but I just can't help it anymore. Will continue on the next post. Perhaps. Insya Allah.
